Questions, answered
Is PawCatch free?
Yes — free to download and free to play. Optional coin packs and a one-time Supporter Pack exist for collectors who want a golden touch, but nothing about catching, collecting or trading is paywalled.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play entirely as a guest, on-device. Signing in (with Apple) only becomes useful when you want friends, leaderboards, the shared map and trading.
Cats only, or dogs too?
Both! PawCatch recognises cats and dogs. Version one is lovingly cat-flavoured — dogs get more of the spotlight with every update.
Where do my photos go?
The magic — detection, cutout, rarity — runs on your iPhone with Apple Vision. Photos only leave your device when you choose to share a card, add friends or trade.
Can someone see where I live?
Map pins are optional per catch, fuzzed by roughly 50 metres, and visible only to accepted friends — never to strangers.
What if I point it at a picture of a cat?
Nice try! PawCatch checks that a live pet is actually in front of the camera — screens and photos politely get told "no sticker".
